Building Safety Regulator to leave HSE in January, minister reveals

Minister puts statutory instrument before parliament

The Building Safety Regulator will be transferred out of the Health and Safety Executive in January.

The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) announced back in June 2025 that the regulator would have its functions moved away from the body and into a new executive non-departmental public body sponsored by the department.
