Government allocates extra £230m to tackling homelessness and rough sleeping in Autumn Budget

Total spending on homelessness to rise to £1bn in 2025/26

The chancellor Rachel Reeves today committed an additional £230 million in funding to address homelessness and rough sleeping in the Labour government’s first budget.

This will bring total spending on homelessness in 2025/26 up to £1bn. 

The government will allocate £1bn from next year to extend the Household Support Fund in England and to provide discretionary housing payments (DHPs) in England and Wales.
